Debt: £58,000 Was paying: £1267/month
Now paying: £300/month

The client does not want to remortage as he has recently become self employed and does not want to risk his home if that does not go to plan. Debt management will never pay off this debt, but it gives our client some respite from his creditors while he focuses on building his business without the fear or court action or losing his home.

3 Random Q&A's from the database:-

1. How are your charges collected?

Every time we make a round of payments to your creditors on your behalf, we deduct our fee for that distribution. If we do not make a distribution, we do not take our fee.

2. Do i need to have a full time job to do debt management ?

No. To be accepted, you only need to have a surplus of income above what you need to live on of at least £100 per month. This surpluss must less than needed to meet current credit and loan repayments.

3. Why would anyone with debts over £15,000 do debt management when they could write off debt with an IVA?

Not only do you need more substancial debt for an IVA, you have to be techncially insolvent, meaning your assets must be worth less than your debts. If you have equity in property, that is taken into consideration by your creditors when considering your IVA propsal. Normally you would be expect to remortgage at some point of the IVA period to raise funds to pay into the IVA.
