Debt management the only solution for a period of umemployment
| Debt: £12,950 | Was paying: £350/month |
| Now paying: £180/month | |
| This client had affordable credit repayments until her husband lost his job, halving the household income. Two months later their savings were running low so they decided to look for a consolidation loan to reduce monthly payments. Soon they would start to miss payments and needed a solution. The client looked at an IVA but her husband would be returning to work and an IVA would be too permanent as their circumstances would be changing. Debt Management was the right solution for them because the payments were flexible and could be increased when they were both working again. static link to this case study: DMCaseStudy13.asp |

3 Random Q&A's from the database:-
1. Can i see that my creditors are being paid ?
You will continue to be sent statements from your creditors. This will show payments made by us on your behalf. You will be issued a statement every 3 monthly showing all transactions on your debt management account with us.2. How much will my debt management payments be ?
It depends on your ability to pay based on your income and essential outgoings, not the total debt or current repayment levels. We agree with your creditors a reasonable amount you can afford allowing for some left over for emergencies. Minimum payments are £100 per month or £25 per week.3. Why would anyone with debts over £15,000 do debt management when they could write off debt with an IVA?
Not only do you need more substancial debt for an IVA, you have to be techncially insolvent, meaning your assets must be worth less than your debts. If you have equity in property, that is taken into consideration by your creditors when considering your IVA propsal. Normally you would be expect to remortgage at some point of the IVA period to raise funds to pay into the IVA.[Bristol] [Hereford and Worcester] [Cheshire] [Northhumberland] [Bradford] [Clwyd] [Merseyside] [Northhamptonshire] [Isle Of Man] [Derbyshire] [London] [Hertfordshire] [Tyne and Wear] [Stoke-on-Trent] [Warwickshire] [Derby] [Wiltshire] [Surrey] [Sheffield] [East Sussex] [Dorset] [Nothern Ireland] [Suffolk] [Plymouth] [West Sussex]
