Example Debt Management Cast Study:-

Debt management the only solution for a period of umemployment

Debt: £12,950 Was paying: £350/month
Now paying: £180/month
This client had affordable credit repayments until her husband lost his job, halving the household income. Two months later their savings were running low so they decided to look for a consolidation loan to reduce monthly payments.
Soon they would start to miss payments and needed a solution. The client looked at an IVA but her husband would be returning to work and an IVA would be too permanent as their circumstances would be changing. Debt Management was the right solution for them because the payments were flexible and could be increased when they were both working again.

3 Random Q&A's from the database:-

1. Can i exclude a particular debt or credit card from my programme ?

No, the principal reason debt management allows reduced payments is that all creditors are treated equally. By excluding one debt, then you are showing favoritism and your other creditors will not agree to this and my resort to court action

2. What if my creditors continue to pursue me for payments ?

In the short term, while your debt repayment plan is being setup, your creditors may continue to take action to recover your debts. Do not ignore them. Deal with calls politely, informing creditors that you have appointed ourselves to act on your behalf. Please forward any letters to us to deal with on your behalf. Generally speaking, creditors are normally synthetic to those in difficulties and doing they up most to maintain reduced payments by using a debt management company.

3. Can I do debt management if I already have CCJ's against these debts ?

Yes. You can even use the plan to make payments against any existing CCJ's that you have. Just make sure that we know exactly what your current situation is when you talk to us before coming on plan.
